The Parker Pen Company is a French manufacturer of luxury writing materials, founded in 1888. The founder, George Safford Parker was originally a sales representative for the John Holland Gold Pen Company where he patented the design of a fountain pen that claimed to draw excess ink back into the barrel of the pen whilst it was not being used.
In 1922, Parker invented Quink (quick-drying ink), which eliminated the process of blotting. Since then Parker has established itself as one of the leading pen manufacturers with factories in Canada, the United Kingdom, France, America, Denmark, Mexico, Pakistan, India, Germany, Brazil and Argentina.
